Suru commented on the Festival:

In these current challenging times, championing film-makers, under-represented voices, and their stories for change, is extremely rewarding.

We are thrilled by the impactful films we are presenting at the 2022 edition of the Paris International Film Festival, which is running virtually from Feb 10th – 20th . With a selection of 22 features and 30 shorts, 50% female-identifying film-makers and 40% first-time film-makers, the Festival once more this year aims at raising awareness and bringing change in many areas, from human rights to environment, social justice or mental health awareness.

This edition of the Festival is highlighting on films for change – be it in front of or behind camera – but not only. Experimental films and films that are “Breaking The Rules” of the world we have known will also be honored.

Our “Take Care” Section will present a selection of films dealing with physical and mental health. Our audiences which are more into genre or comedy will also find the type of films they love watching and some surprises among the selection.

At the Paris International Film Festival, we’re extremely pleased to champion such fierce voices coming from 5 continents to bring change“
