Oscars 2020: At this year’s 92nd Academy Awards in Los Angeles, Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite has made history by becoming the first non-English language film to win the Oscar for best picture.

Bong, who is currently guest editor of Sight & Sound magazine, also won best director and best original screenplay, with his film also nabbing the best international film prize.

It may come as no surprise to many to see Renee Zellweger winning yet another award for her performance as she was named best actress for her turn as Judy Garland in Judy.

Joaquin Phoenix delivered an emotional speech on the night sharing his thoughts on how people can always do better before leaving the stage with an emotional quote from his late brother, River Phoenix’s song. He collected another award for his performance in JOKER.

The supporting acting categories went to Laura Dern for her sensational performance in Netflix’s big movie hit, Marriage Story and Brad Pitt collected his accolade for Once upon a Time in Hollywood.

Taika Waititi took away the prize for best adapted screenplay for Jojo Rabbit.

British cinematographer Roger Deakins won his second Oscar for best cinematography, for Sam Mendes’ war drama 1917.
