The Weinstein Co. has acquired distribution rights to Keaton’s latest project THE FOUNDER, which tells the story of how Ray Kroc, a milkshake dispensers salesman created one of the most powerful brands in the world -McDonald’s. He began working for the McDonald brothers in 1954 at the age of 51 as a franchising agent and bought the chain for $2.7 million in 1961. He turned McDonald’s into a global fast food empire, which is still going strong across the world today.
FilmNation is producing along with Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield, through their company, theCombine.
Production for the movie is set to commence later this year with John Lee Hancock at the helm of this venture and more cast members are expected to be announced in due course. However, with Michael Keaton at the front of this movie, it is certainly making all the right noises.
The actor has a busy year ahead with the filming of KONG: SKULL ISLAND also imminent alongside Tom Hiddleston and J.K Simmons.
