Matt Damon Means Business In First Image From Next Bourne Sequel

Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne looks a lean, mean fighting machine in the new images which have been released from the latest BOURNE sequel.

The first picture has been unveiled of Matt Damon on the set of the latest Bourne film and the 44-year-old looks like he has beefed himself up for the physically demanding role once again as he stands shirtless in the still.

The picture was tweeted by Frank Marshall, one of the producers of the as-yet-untitled part five of the spy franchise.

‘First day of principal photography complete and happy to report, BOURNE is back! #Bourne2016,’ he wrote. 

In the snap, a serious-looking Damon stands in a field, wrapping his knuckles for what looks like preparation for an organised fight.

Marshall was a producer on all four previous Bourne films; IDENTITY, SUPREMACY  and ULTIMATUM, as well as LEGACY  starring Jeremy Renner, which collectively made $1.2billion at the box office.

Damon returns to the series after the focus had shifted from him to Renner’s Aaron Cross for the fourth part.

Last week we learnt that Vincent Cassel has been cast as the villain in the new film and THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.’s Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones are also on board in as yet unknown roles, while Julia Stiles returns to once again play Nicky Parsons. 

Paul Greengrass, the man who called the shots in SUPREMACY  and ULTIMATUM, also returns once again to direct, and this time will have screenplay writing duties for the first time too. 

If the film title once again follows the book series, it will be named THE BOURNE BETRAYAL. 

The movie is slated for releasee July 29th, 2016.
