Daredevil

Marvel have finally revealed the release date of DAREDEVIL their first Netflix TV series paving the way to ‘Avengers’-esque team-up mini-series THE DEFENDERS and along with the exciting new announcement a new poster art has been released to mark the occasion.

Starring Charlie Cox in the lead as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer by day/costumed vigilante by night (previously portrayed by Ben Affleck in the 2003 movie DAREDEVIL) will be added to Netflix’s impressive collection of TV series already available. It will be released on April 10th (at 12.01 pacific time) in all territories where Netflix is available. This is good news for those who live outside the US as other countries won’t have long to wait to watch it also.

The series will be dissected into 13 one-hour episodes, which will be released simultaneously. (We suspect many people won’t be making many plans that day!)

Starring alongside Cox are Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple/Night Nurse, and TRUE BLOOD’s Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, two characters not featured in the 2003 movie.

To complete the ensemble are Elden Henson (THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY) takes over from Jon Favreau as Murdoch’s law partner Foggy Nelson, whilst Vincent D’Onofrio is set to play super-villain Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin.

DAREDEVIL is the first of a  of Marvel shows expected to be released on Netflix, with JESSICA JONES, IRON FIRST and LUKE CAGE all expected to be released later this year. What is even more exciting are the plans for all four characters to team up as THE DEFENDERS in an AVENGERS-esque style show.

Kristen Ritter and Mike Colter have been cast as Jones and Cage respectively, but we are still waiting to see who will be involved in the IRON FIST CASTING.
