There’s just no stopping Mark Wahlberg.

The Oscar nominated actor just moves around from project to project. From comedies such as TED and the upcoming DADDY’S HOME, to intense crime dramas such as THE DEPARTED and BROKEN CITY to big budget Hollywood blockbusters TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION and PLANET OF THE APES, Wahlberg has such range and clearly isn’t afraid to take risks with his roles.

Deadline have reported that Wahlberg is now attached to the upcoming New Line production in-titled PARTNERS.

PARTNERS is the buddy cop film that we all know and love with a subtle twist. Wahlberg will play an LAPD detective, who finds out his new partner is a woman that he slept with the previous night, who Wahlberg has fallen in love with. The two have to solve a big case while facing their feelings for one another while working in a professional and often dangerous environment.

Working on the sexual tension that’s been prevalent in almost every buddy cop movie ever (unintentionally I might add), this new premise is a nice subtle change up in the dynamics that we have come to expect in cop dramas/comedies over the years.

Wahlberg has proven himself in a cop role before in both serious (THE DEPARTED, WE OWN THE NIGHT) and in comedic roles (THE OTHER GUYS, 2 GUNS), PARTNERS SHOULD see him blend to the two together nicely.

Stephen Levinson (LONE SURVIVOR, ENTOURAGE, THE GAMBLER) is set to produce and is currently looking for a director for the project and for Wahlberg’s love interest.

Wahlberg can currently be seen in cinemas in TED 2, and later this year in MOJAVE and the Will Ferrell comedy DADDY’S HOME.
