Magic Mike XXL

We have only two months to wait until we get to see Channing Tatum and friends back on the stage and to celebrate, Warner Bros. have launched a new trailer for the comedy-drama sequel, MAGIC MIKE XXL.

Not all of his friends will be seen once more as Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer will not be reprising his role (we can hear your sighs of disappointment already!) but Tatum is still joined by Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Adam Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias and Kevin Nash.

Fans of the first film will be delighted to see that Mike and his reclaimed furniture business plans have gone wayward and he is back on the stage stripping once more alongside his friends.

The story picks up three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, ‘Magic Mike XXL’ finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.

Steven Soderbergh, who directed the first film, returns as the film’s cinematographer and editor with longtime collaborator Gregory Jacobs handed the director’s reins for the sequel.

Not seen the trailer yet? Then take a look below. As the end card to the trailer reads, “You’re welcome.”

Is that XXL enough for you?

MAGIC MIKE XXL will be released in the US on July 1st and the UK July 3rd.
