Doctor Strange

Another day and another casting addition for Marvel’s Phase Three entry in their Cinematic Universe, DOCTOR STRANGE – Mads Mikkelsen is on board playing the role of a villain.

After the news that there will be no more HANNIBAL, Mads Mikkelsen will be keeping himself busy with his new role in STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE and now he may have a part in DOCTOR STRANGE. The actor is currently in early talks to hop into the mystical realm of the Sorcerer Supreme, with his role believed to be another antagonist for Stephen Strange. We already know one of the villains who will star in the film – Chiwetel Ejiofor has already been confirmed as one of Doctor Strange’s nemeses, Baron Mordo – but at the moment Mikkelsen’s character remains somewhat of a mystery.

In the film, Benedict Cumberbatch plays Stephen Strange, a brilliant neurosurgeon whose hands are mangled in a car accident. He eventually studies with the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), tapping into his potential as a manipulator of mystic arts. Baron Mordo is another student of the Ancient One, and he and Strange end up in conflict — in comics, at least, and presumably in the film.

Scott Derrickson is directing DOCTOR STRANGE from a script by Jon Spaihts.

DOCTOR STRANGE will open on November 4th, 2016.
