It may not be the first time the popular book has been adapted onto the big screen – or on the small one for that matter, but we are thrilled wit the calibre of the stars of the new movie. The film boasts a super talented cast with Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Eliza Scanlen, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep all starring in the movie. Can it really get any better than that?!

Actor turned writer-director Greta Gerwig is in the director’s chair for this one. She is following up her Oscar-nominated film LADY BIRD with a new adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s seminal novel Little Women.

Gerwig’s take on the film is based on the 1868 novel about a family of sisters on their journey from childhood to womanhood.

Little Women

Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to live life on her own terms — is both timeless and timely. Portraying Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth March, the film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, with Timothée Chalamet as their neighbour Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.

If you haven’t yet seen the trailer for the movie, then what are you waiting for?! Feast your eyes on the footage in the video player below.
