Following its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival 2018, and ahead of the BFI London Film Festival highlight UK premiere on Saturday 13 October, Picturehouse Entertainment have confirmed the release date for OUT OF BLUE. The movie will be hitting cinemas on the 22nd March 2019 across the UK and Ireland.

Directed by acclaimed British filmmaker Carol Morley (Dreams Of A Life, The Falling) and based on Martin Amis’s 1997 novel Night Train

Produced by Luc Roeg (We Need To Talk About Kevin, Mr Nice, Spider), Cairo Cannon (The Falling, Dreams Of A Life) and Maggie Monteith  (Kaleidoscope, Searching For Sugarman), OUT OF BLUE was developed with the support of the BFI and BBC Films.

OUT OF BLUE is a stylish, neo-noir murder mystery boasting an incredible lead performance from Academy Award-nominated actor Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects, The Party, Pieces Of April). The star-studded supporting cast includes Academy Award-nominated actor James Caan (The Godfather, Misery), Academy Award-nominated actor Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Animal Kingdom), and Toby Jones (Christopher Robin, Captain America).

When homicide detective Mike Hoolihan (Patricia Clarkson) is called to investigate the murder of a leading astrophysicist in New Orleans, she is confronted by a mystery that begins to affect her in ways she had never expected.

As the investigation deepens, a darker world is slowly revealed and she must use all her skills and experience to piece together fragments of a wider conspiracy that lies behind the murder.
