During this year’s London Film Festival, Film and TV Now was invited to experience the world of one of the most versatile of animation talents working in cinema today.

One of the oldest animation Studios in the world, Studio Chizu – as part of promotion for it’s brand-new offering from the director Mamoru Hosoda, MIRAI (being released in the UK from November 2018) – showcased a whole variety of works from four of his previous successes, THE BOY AND THE BEAST, SUMMER WARS, THE GIRL WHO LEAPT THROUGH TIME and WOLF CHILDREN alongside his latest.

On Monday 15th October 2018, Noho Studios in London’s West End was the place for a select group of journalists to look at what the director’s vision entailed – and the evening didn’t disappoint, with an intimate, but highly cultivated and stimulating exhibit. Amidst all the attention, guests were treated to a mix of Japanese-themed drinks, including bottles of Asahi beer and a special blue cocktail.

In one corner, you could have an avatar based selfie through an XBox screen-grab and in another there was a neat little backdrop with some of the main characters, which would bring joy to any number of kids attending the exhibition (which moves onto the London MCM Comic-Con later in the same month).

A whole variety of replica storyboards and images could also be seen hanging from the wall, plus murals and explanations of the techniques involved in making the latest offering, which has just enjoyed some sell-out screenings at the LFF.

There was other opportunities to purchase some impressive merchandise and artwork from the front shop area just inside the entrance – and the PR team did an excellent job of chaperoning the guests around the venue.

All The Anime, the company behind the exhibition, said that this was their first attempt – and on this evidence, it certainly needs as much awareness and publicity as possible. You can learn more about the people behind the exhibition via the link below:
