But Legendary Entertainment want to give all the singletons out there a little hope, we might just have been looking in all the wrong places.
Like the unlucky in love Nora, who had a succession of awful boyfriends but found her perfect romantic partner on a hike. He was a sweet, kind, and caring 500-pound American Black Bear. Together they face hipster neighbours, judgemental friends, and Bear’s winter hibernation.
My Boyfriend is a Bear is a light-hearted odd couple romance, set to be adapted by Legendary to inspire us to look beyond our own ideas of what makes boyfriend material and find our own bear by taking a walk in the woods or downloading Grindr.
Published in May 2018 by Oni Press, My Boyfriend is a Bear was written by Pamela Ribon with art from Cat Farris. Ribon will also write the screenplay for the film adaptation, having previously scripted Smurfs:The Lost Village, Moana, and the upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet.
