Keira Knightley

It seems as though Keira Knightley will be adding another film to her impressive CV as Deadline is reporting that two-time Academy Award nominee will star in the biopic COLETTE from STILL ALICE director Wash Westmoreland.

Knightley will be portraying Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, the French novelist and Nobel Prize nominee most famous for penning the 1944 book “Gigi,” which was later adapted into the famous 1958 movie musical starring Leslie Caron, which won the Oscar for Best Picture. More recently, Stephen Frears adapted her 1920 novel “Chéri” into a 2009 film starring Michelle Pfeiffer.

The script was penned by the director, Westmorland along with his late husband and filmmaking partner Richard Glatzer, with whom he wrote and co-directed STILL ALICE.

Pam Koffler and Christine Vachon are on producing duties for Killer Films, with Elizabeth Karlsen and Stephen Woolley producing for Number 9 Films.

There has been no word as of yet who will be jointing Keira Knightley in the biopic or when production will commence, but we are expected to hear more news in the coming months.
