Fantastic Four

Fans of FANTASTIC FOUR prepare to be disappointed, after many less-than-favourable critiques from the media and fans alike, it seems that the plan for a sequel may be on the back-burner according to its star, Kate Mara.

The actress spoke with The Times, and confessed said that she isn’t expecting to head back for the reported sequel.

“We have no idea if we’ll ever make another one,” she said. Given the response of the first film, this may not come as a shock to many. The movie stirred a lot of negative response from critics and film-lovers and rumour has it, a lot of problems were engineered off-set.

It has been suggested that during editing, too many of the large action scenes were cut from the movie, which is so desperately needed and there has been speculation that the director Josh Trank had tension issues on set. With all of this combined, it seems that even Kate Mara is struggling to watch the film when asked whether she herself has seen it: “No,” she said. “But I will eventually.”

Mara confessed that due to the negative response to FANTASTIC FOUR, she has been put off watching it, but she revealed that she did enjoying making it:

“It was a tricky shoot,” she confessed, “but you know… when you know when you’re shooting it that a film isn’t going to be what you want it to be? That was not the case at all.”

Mara insists that the cast really gelled, as they stuck together and ‘really had each other’s backs’: “That makes me most bummed because we have no idea if we’ll ever make another one.”

So, with Mara questioning whether or not there will be a sequel, we will have to wait and see until 20th Century Fox release any further information.

FANTASTIC FOUR 2 is slated for release June 9th, 2017.
