It seems that Kate Beckinsale will be adding another movie to her impressive CV. Deadline are reporting that the actress, largely known for her role in UNDERWORLD will be leading the cast in action-comedy, JOLT.

The film’s being brought to the big screen by Millennium Media and it is Tanya Wexler (Hysteria) who will be in the director’s chair for this one.

There is still little that has been revealed about the official synopsis, but what we do know is that Beckinsale will be playing the role of a homicidal bouncer named Lindy… The character appears to have a slightly serious issue and self control, as she has a tendency for murder when angered, but she controls it with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normality whenever she gets homicidal. Enraged by the death of her first love, she goes on a vengeance mission to find the killer while the police pursue her as their chief suspect.

This is the first time that Millennium Media has created a project where there is a female lead, director and producer making JOLT a stand-out project for the company.

Production has not yet started on the movie, but it is scheduled to commence in July this year, filming here in the UK and in Sofia, Bulgaria.

If you can’t wait that long to see Kate Beckinsale on the big screen, you can currently watch her in the ITV hit series THE WIDOW, where she plays a grieving wife on the hunt for her husband who she believes in not dead and being held against his will.

Beckinsale can also be seen in cinemas soon in El Tonto.
