Jude Law

Jude Law has been spotted out in public a lot recently wearing various costumes whilst filming THE YOUNG POPE in Rome, Italy.

British actor, Jude Law can be seen in the first official image for the highly-anticipated Paulo Sorrentino-directed drama, which sees the 42-year-old actor appear as the first American-Italian Pontiff, Pius XIII.

Reclining in the Roman sunshine, Law is in full-costume, which adheres to traditional ‘house dress’ of white garments fringed with gold and a cappello romano hat.

In the first official shot from the eight-part series, fans can see the character will appear in the traditional vestments of the Bishop of Rome.

The actor has been seen hard at work lately filming at all hours of the day around Italy in the past two-months, dressed in a variety of costumes, whilst playing Pope Pious XIII in the Sky, HBO and Canal+ high-end drama.

The eight-week series, which has been directed by Oscar-winning Sorrentino, sees the British actor star alongside screen-legend Diane Keaton, who plays American nun Sister Mary.

The Young Pope will show viewers the controversial beginning of the fictional pope’s ascension to the highest position within the Catholic faith.

The cast also includes James Cromwell, Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, and Toni Bertorelli.
