JJ Abrams

Biopics are certainly popular in the world of Hollywood at the moment, along with reboots and comic book adaptations and now it seems JJ Abrams will be adding a new film to the biopic collection after revealing he will be working on a Thomas Edison biopic at Paramount Pictures.

The director has been a very busy man of late wrapping up filming on the eagerly anticipated STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and now it seems Abrams is turning his attention elsewhere and is prepping for his next project about the legendary US scientist under his Bad Robot banner, according to The Wrap.

Edison is a famous scientist who is still discussed in school curriculums today, such is notoriety as ‘The Wizard of Menlo Park’, after he developed the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb.

Bad Robot’s upcoming films include STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5, THE CELLAR and STAR TREK 3.

Paramount and Bad Robot are yet to release any official statements about the Edison biopic project.
