James McAvoy is in negotiations to star alongside Charlize Theron in the Focus Features spy thriller THE COLDEST CITY.
The X-MEN actor is said to be in talks about starring in the film, which is set in the 1980s and explores the aftermath of an undercover MI6 spy’s murder.
The film is being helmed by David Leitch who is making his solo directing debut after working with his partner Chad Stahelski.
The script has been penned by Kurt Johnstad who has written the screenplay for 300 and ACT OF VALOR’S, which is due to shoot in Berlin and Budapest next month.
McAvoy is proving to be a man in demand, as he has recently replaced Joaquin Phoenix in M. Night Shyamalan‘s next untitled Blumhouse thriller and he can next be seen on the big screen alongside Daniel Radcliffe in VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN which will be released November 25th.
