In the new trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s upcoming movie DEMOLITION it shows the classic case of sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone…

This is certainly the case for Gyllenhaal’s character as he takes on the role of a grieving investment banker, David in the upcoming feature.

A first trailer has been unveiled, showing the 34-year-old actor struggling to rebuild his life after losing his wife in a fatal car crash.

The clip begins with the suit-wearing star writing a letter of complaint to a vending machine company after failing to receive a packet of peanut M&Ms he had so badly wanted.

We discover that the snack time incident came minutes after his tragedy, leading him to divulge countless private details about his life and loss. This is only the beginning of the New Yorker’s meltdown…

The release of the first trailer has been well-timed as DEMOLITION will be opening up the Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday, but doesn’t hit cinemas until April 8th.

The film is directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, who has helmed films such as DALLAS BUYERS CLUB and WILD.

Gyllenhaal has certainly been a busy man of late having finished promotions for his boxing movie SOUTHPAW, he’s currently doing the media rounds for disaster movie EVEREST, which opened the Venice International Film Festival and the in-demand actor also has a few other highly-anticipated projects in the works, including NOCTURNAL ANIMALS and THE MAN WHO MADE IT SNOW which will reunite him with SOUTHPAW director Antoine Fuqua.

NOCTURNAL ANIMAL, which is based on the Austin Wright novel ‘Tony and Susan’ is slated for a 2016 release and no release details have yet been confirmed for THE MAN WHO MADE IT SNOW.
