Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Bill Nighy and Kelly MacDonald are tipped to join Tilda Swinton in OKJA, the new monster film by Bong Joon-ho, the Korean director of SNOWPIERCER.

After Tilda Swinton recently reaffirmed that should would be reuniting with SNOWPIERCER director Bong Joon-ho for his next film, a new report has confirmed just which project that is along with four new cast members who are expected to star in it. As was presumed for a while, Bong Joon-ho’s next movie will be the multilingual monster movie OKJA, which is expected to feature a Korean female lead and a cast of English-speaking supporting actors, whose scenes will be set in New York.

The Wrap reports that a foursome of the aforementioned English-speaking actors are in various stages of preliminary discussions to join the film, though the news comes before offers have officially been extended. The names mentioned who are reportedly being approached to join the project are Jake GyllenhaalPaul DanoBill Nighy, and Kelly Macdonald.

At the moment, Swinton is currently the only actor confirmed to be on board the project and as of yet there is very little that we know about the plot of the movie, the characters, or the setting. However, it’s likely we won’t have long to wait to find out all of the information as OKJA is set to start production from April 2016.

Should Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano sign on the dotted line, this will see the two actors reunited once again after they starred in Denis Villeneuve‘s superb dark thriller PRISONERS in 2013.
