A quartet of high emotions and sexually-charged relationships in crisis form the basis for the new drama IN CORPORE, produced and directed by Ivan Malekin and Sarah Jayne, set across four cities in contrasting parts of the world.
A key character in this four-way perspective is Anna, a Melbourne artist and native connecting with a friend, Henri, whilst visiting her parents, but revealing that she is in fact married to an older man, Patrick, whilst in America and secretly eloping to Vegas.
In Malta, Anna and Manny are preparing to buy a country house amidst the prospect of new parenthood which is causing a strain on both their relationships, caused in part by Anna’s extended family during a celebration dinner.
Meanwhile, in Berlin, Milana is involved in a civil partnership with Rosalie and trying desperately to form the right ongoing bond….
Explicit and honest account of how relationships go much deeper when the stakes for a future together are far higher, with some of the raw edges emphasised on a greater sexual level with the physical attraction and desire taking over at times.
Fans of a more mature analysis of relationships in films like EYES WIDE SHUT and FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and classic erotica like EMMANUELLE and THE STORY OF O will find something of interest here in an adult-only experience and the sex scenes are done with coordinated effect to compliment the intense emotional involvement that all the principal characters are experiencing.
There is a refreshing level of balance, focusing on alternate perspectives which sometimes are selfish rather than selfless and unconnected and untidy due to the level of emotional honesty within each of the participants.
Interesting and involving at times, IN CORPORE attempts to go far deeper than the standard exploitative nature of sex within the dynamic of all kinds of relationships and a movie that universally reflects some of the key issues that men and women have to face up to from time to time if they want to evolve in a true, loving association.
