The British summer: longer days, warmer weather, excited cries, and the unmistakable jingle of an ice cream van.

Universal Cable Productions are dead set on ruining all of our fond childhood memories of rushing to get a Twister as soon as we heard Mr Whippy’s call, with an adaptation of Image Comics horror series ‘Ice Cream Man.’

Max and Adam Reid are attached to executive produce and write the pilot.

The Ice Cream Man

Debuting in January 2018, ‘Ice Cream Man’ is written by W Maxwell Prince, with art by Martin Maruzzo. The comic features standalone horror/fantasy tales narrated by the Ice Cream Man, as he travels from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. Each story is filled with darkly wry observations, reveals cruel ironies of fate, delves deep into the psyche of suburbia, and ends with a macabre twist.

Universe Cable Productions also produce two other Image Comics adaptations, Syfy’s Happy! and Netflix’s upcoming Umbrella Academy.

Ice Cream Man is expected to debut in 2019.
