Man from U.N.C.L.E

Henry Cavill’s The Man from UNCLE will premiere at Film4’s Summer Screen in August.

Director Guy Ritchie‘s big-screen reboot of THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. stars Henry Cavill, Hugh Grant, Elizabeth Debicki, Alicia Vikander and Jared Harris.

The film’s premiere will take place on Friday, August 7th at Somerset House, with priority booking opening for e-newsletter subscribers tomorrow (May 13).

Based on the hit US TV show from the 60s, this upcoming spy romp sees Superman’s Cavill remove his red cloak and put on a range of stylish suits for the role of Napoleon Solo, the top CIA operative played by Robert Vaughn in the original series.

He’s somewhat reluctantly teamed up with Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer in the David McCallum role), the KGB’s main man.

Together, they will work for  ’U.N.C.L.E.’, the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.

The movie is set against the backdrop of the early 1960s period of the Cold War and THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. centres on U.N.C.L.E. agents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin. The two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.”

For this reboot, Ritchie has once again hooked up with SHERLOCK HOLMES producer Lionel Wigram for the movie.

General sale for tickets begins at 10am on Friday, May 15, with tickets priced £24 plus booking fees.

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. is due out on August 14th.
