Film And TV Now continues to cultivate industry partnerships – and one of its’ strongest is with the London Independent Film Festival (LIFF), run by Festival Director Natasha Marburger (below) each April at the Genesis Cinema in London’s Mile End.
Over a ten-day period, LIFF brings together the cream of British and international film-making talent to celebrate independent voices through a series of screenings of both features and shorts (screened in block sections), panels and networking evenings.
In August 2023, LIFF teamed up with Female Film Club (FFC) to celebrate their third birthday with an evening at the Genesis which brought together female creatives with strong support from the male contingent in an event that highlighted the very importance of female voices in film at a time when transition continues to build.
FFC Founders Nicole and Liza met at the BFI Film Festival six years ago and decided to pool their resources into a short film with 80% female crew. After the pandemic, the pair decided to create an community where people in film could connect.
