Guardians of the Galaxy
Karen Gillan as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy

We loved GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and are very excited to hear about director James Gunn’s plans for the Marvel sequel thanks to the details he revealed on Periscope.

For those unfamiliar with Periscope, it is a live-streaming video app, which Gunn used to answer fans questions and it is via that platform, that he confirmed that Karen Gillan‘s alien villain Nebula, the adopted daughter of Thanos, will return once again for the second installment.

It seems as though Gillan won’t have to take to the razor again this time around as the filmmaker also revealed that he has come up with a way for the former DOCTOR WHO alumni to play the role without shaving her head.

Guardians of the Galaxy
Lee Pace, who played the villain Ronan will not be returning in the sequel.

For those hoping to see if Lee Pace will be reprising his role as the villain, we are afraid to say he won’t be: “Ronan is a bad guy, we killed him,” Gunn shared. “Not everything is going to happen in the movies the same as the comics.”

Hopefully we won’t have too long to wait to find out more juicy details as the director confirmed he is “very, very far along” with the script for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 having already completed 70 pages.

Production for the first film was at London’s Pinewood Studios, but this time around, the sequel will be shot in Pinewood Atlanta Studios, with a shooting date slated for February 2016.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 is due to arrive in cinemas on May 5th, 2017.
