Alfonso Cuarón’s ROMA was awarded best foreign language film, which is a big win for the streaming service, Netflix.

It was a fantastic evening for British talent, with the stars of THE FAVOURITE, VICE, THE BODYGUARD, and A VERY ENGLISH SCANDAL also winning in their respective categories.

Olivia Colman, who won Best Actress (comedy or musical) for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite and Christian Bale was celebrated for his performance as former vice president Dick Cheney – which scooped him Best Actor (comedy or musical).

It may come as no surprise to many after the success of BBC drama BODYGUARD to see British actor Richard Madden win for his performance and Ben Whishaw won TV awards for his role in A Very English Scandal.
