George R.R. Martin, known largely for his GAME OF THRONES creation, is going from strength to strength and capitalising on his success of one of the most popular series currently on TV, by creating a new project.
After talking to Entertainment Weekly, he revealed that he has a new science-fiction project in the pipeline at HBO.
The series is currently known as CAPTAIN COSMOS at the moment and is still in the early stages of development, so very little is known about the new venture as of yet, but what we do know is that a pilot is being written by Michael Cassutt, a writer and co-executive producer on SyFy’s Z NATION. Here is the synopsis that has been revealed so far for it:
“At the dawn of the age of TV in 1949, a visionary young writer creates a science fiction series that tells stories no one else will dare to tell.” As we said, we know very little and that extract certainly doesn’t give us a lot to go on.
Don’t worry though GAME OF THRONES fans, this does not mean it will deter him from his writing duties for that TV series as the new project will not be as demanding as the current HBO and Sky Atlantic hit.
George R.R. Martin is currently busying himself working on “The Winds of Winter“, and has stated that he is hoping to shave the books published before the sixth season of GAME OF THRONES is broadcasted next spring.
GAME OF THRONES will be back on our screens on HBO April 12th, 2015 and Sky Atlantic April 13th, 2015.
