WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES has found itself a human – newcomer Gabriel Chavarria will be taking on the leading human role in the movie.
According to Deadline, the actor has found himself leading the film in the PLANET OF THE APES sequel.
“Gabriel Chavarria, the young star of Universal’s upcoming Low Riders, is making his deal now to be one of two human leads in 20th Century Fox’s War Of The Planet Of The Apes,” they revealed. “The role is one of two main humans in the cast, much like James Franco’s part in 2011’s Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.”
The PLANET OF THE APES reboot bode very well for 20th Century Fox, who enjoyed great box office success with their last franchise instalment DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, which recorded an impressive $708 million at the box office. Twice the amount of takings of its predecessor.
For some, it may be a surprise to see Gabriel Chavarria cast in the lead, but he is mostly known for his leading role as Jacob Aguilar in the TV series, EAST LOS HIGH – a teen drama about a group of Latino-Americans growing up in Los Angeles.
Chavarria can next be seen in the upcoming American drama film LOW RIDERS opposite SUPERGIRL star Melissa Benoist and Eva Longoria. Very little is known about the role which Chavarria will play in the WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES apart from the fact that he has bagged the leading role.
WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES arrives in cinemas on July 14th, 2017.
