Steve Jobs

It is the moment we have all been waiting for – the debut trailer of Danny Boyle’s long-gestating biopic of STEVE JOBS and we finally get our first glimpse of Michael Fassbender as the late Apple tech guru.

We do, however, have to wait to see Fassbender in full until the end of the trailer, where we witness him receiving applause from the crowd at a product launch – expected to be the 1998 unveiling of the first iMac. Aside from that, we are certainly being teased with only minimal glimpses of the actor in profile from behind as audio from the film plays out.

The actor plays the central role in a biopic about the Apple founder who died in 2011 after battling cancer.

In the dramatic official trailer, he appears before a cheering auditorium in a black polo-neck sweater and jeans sporting the same thin-rimmed glasses as did his real-life character.

STEVE JOBS is being brought to the big screen by Danny Boyle and was penned by legendary Hollywood writer Aaron Sorkin.

The film had a tumultuous birth with a string of various actors, directors and writers considered before the final line-up was decided.

Fassbender was confirmed for the leading role in January after months of speculation. He is joined by Kate Winslet, in the role of former Macintosh marketing boss Joanna Hoffman and Seth Rogen who plays Steve Wozniack.

Jeff Daniels is playing former Apple CEO John Sculley while Michael Stuhlbarg is starring as one of the Mac’s original developers, Andy Hertzfeld.

STEVE JOBS is due for release on October 9th in the US, four days after the fourth anniversary of Jobs’ death of cancer, timing which suggests a tilt at the 2016 Oscars. However the audience in the UK will have to wait a little while longer as the biopic is due to hit UK cinemas on November 13th.
