You’d think that director Bryan Singer would be to busy working hard on his sequel to last year’s highly enjoyable X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, to be thinking about updating his twitter and Instagram pages, but thankfully not.
Singer has always been a keen advocate of social media, sharing every little production detail with his loyal followers. Last night, thanks to his Instagram page we saw the first glimpse of a young Jean Grey (GAME OF THRONES’Â Sophie Turner) and Jubilee (Lana Condor) in full 1980s get up, complete with big hair and stonewashed denim.
Both actresses look happy and remarkably like their comic book counterparts, especially true in the case of Jubilee whose outfit appears to have been ripped out off the pages of an X-men comic, it’s just that good. This definite 80s look could mean that we could be seeing a more faithful look for the newly assembled X-men team, but maybe without the bright spandex? Please?
X-MEN: APOCALYPSEÂ takes place in 1983, ten years after the events of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, and continues the story of young Professor X (James McAvoy) Magneto (Michael Fassenbender) Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence, returning for the last time) who have to tackle with a new and all-powerful enemy, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), who looks to eliminate not only mutant-kind but humanity as well.
The film boasts an impressive cast of young actors who are taking over the realms of the characters who we have previously seen within the X-men universe. Including the aforementioned Jean Grey and Jubilee, the mutant line up this time includes, Storm (Alexandra Shipp) Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) Nightcrawler (Kodi Smith-Mcphee) and Angel (Ben Hardy).
Sadly there is no news as to whether Hugh Jackman will be reprising his iconic role as Wolverine for APOCALYPSE. However a new stand-alone Wolverine movie has been confirmed and is moving forward into production.
