the hateful

There’s no denying that after all this time Quentin Tarantino still has a strong draw to bring audiences around the world to see his films. From Reservoir Dogs to Django Unchained we cant get enough of his hyper-violent and sharply written scripts.

Which is why, I think its safe to say, that one of this years most anticipated films is Tarantino’s thematic follow-up to 2013’s DJANGO UNCHAINED, THE HATEFUL EIGHT.

Entertainment Weekly has had the exclusive reveal of the first character poster. Check out the new poster for the upcoming western below.

The poster boasts two characters of the group of eight, Kurt Russell as John Ruth ‘The Hangman’ and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Doumergue ‘The Prisoner’.

Obviously this is only the first of, what we can assume will be, four character posters revealing the rest of the cast in their western getup. There’s no denying that Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh look like classic cinematic characters in the making.

THE HATEFUL EIGHT has had a troublesome history with the first draft of the script leaking back in 2013, which led Tarantino to put a halt in production, leading to the director giving up all aspects of the project. This was until May of last year when Tarantino confirmed that he would indeed make the film confirming that filming would begin early this year.

Plot details are a little thin at the moment, but what we do know about the project is this; THE HATEFUL EIGHT is set some years after the Civil War in Wyoming, where a group of eight wonderers seek refuge in a cabin on a mountain pass during a deadly blizzard.

With a release date set for late this year in the States and early next year in the UK, expect to see more character posters and (hopefully) a trailer for THE HATEFUL EIGHT very soon.
