Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut gets it’s first trailer boasting an all star cast…

Hollywood hunk Ryan Gosling’s impressive career in front of the camera has solidified his stance as one of the world most loved leading men and now he’s stepping into a directors role to impress his already fierce fans!

His directorial debut LOST RIVER was first brought to our attention when it gained mixed reviews at last years Cannes Film Festival but with Warner Bros fighting in its corner the first official trailer is out!

With an impressive cast including Christina Hendrix, Matt Smith, Ian De Casestecker, Saoirse Ronan and Eva Mendez, the trailer boasts a fantastical, haunting story with an almost hallucination tone to its mise-en-scene. Check out the official synopsis;

“Lost River is a dark fairy tale about love, family and the fight for survival in the face of danger. In the virtually abandoned city of Lost River, Billy (Christina Hendricks), a single mother of two, is led into a macabre underworld in her quest to save her childhood home and hold her family together. Her teenage son Bones (Iain De Casestecker) discovers a mystery about the origins of Lost River that triggers his curiosity and sets into motion an unexpected journey that will test his limits and the limits of those he loves.”

Fans of Gosling as an actor may not find their usual taste’s quite met with this one, with a style that obviously is steering purposely clear from anything mainstream, fans of THE NOTEBOOK and CRAZY STUPID LOVE might find themselves pining for some lighthearted Gosling-esque fun.

Still, this is Gosling’s first crack at stepping into the directors role and should be judged as such. There’s something really intriguing and inviting about LOST RIVER, a sense of Gothic wonderment burns into the trailer and is certainly mysterious enough to get us watching!

What do you guys think about the new trailer? LOST RIVER is released to UK cinemas April 2015.
