Emily Blunt

EDGE OF TOMORROW star Emily Blunt confirms she’s turned down two major Marvel roles.

The beautiful Emily Blunt has spoken out about those rumours that she’s been offered to play Captain Marvel and has also addressed a couple of other roles she’d previously turned down.

Talking to Vulture, Blunt confessed that she’s never actually been offered the role as Captain Marvel; “so it’s… very unofficial. I think it’s fan-casting, which is always very nice. But nothing official has been offered, for sure. If I get it, thank Meryl [Streep] for it!”

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA actress continued to confirm that she received offers to play both Black Widow and Peggy Carter; “It was never the right time, really,” she explains “and it just didn’t work out scheduling-wise with those two.”

The ever kind and humble actress ended the speculation in the most appropriate way; “It’s always a difficult thing to talk about, because it’s not fair to the actresses who ended up playing them, you know? It just wasn’t the right time.”

While it’s hard to imagine anybody but Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, as a hardcore Blunt fan, the thought of her kicking butt in THE AVENGERS blows my mind. Still, with INTO THE WOODS coming to theatres January 9th and her next film, SICARIO ready for pre-production, there will be plenty of Blunt on our screens!

Take a look at the latest INTO THE WOODS trailer.
