Eastenders

The ‘Who Killed Lucy Beale’ EastEnders story line has gripped fans of the show over the past year, with hints being given not only in the show, but also at places like the National Television Awards and now through spooky trailers.

During EastEnders’ anniversary week, Lucy Beale’s murderer will be revealed. To mark the 30th anniversary of the soap, the newly released trailer shows a list of suspects that all have something to hide, from Max Branning to Whitney Dean and even Ian Beale all being portrayed as potential murderers.

The trailer shows main suspect Max Branning walking through the eerie playground, feeling as if someone or something is watching him. As the swing starts to move on its own, his feelings of guilt and remorse seem evident through his grim facial expressions.

Viewers then see the seemingly innocent Abi Branning in the shop being ‘haunted’ by a spirit that starts opening bottle caps off the shelves – maybe as a warning to the killer!

The Beale family, which consists of Ian, Jane, Peter, Cindy and Bobby are then shown in the ‘chippie’ where a set of handprints appear on the steamy windows. These strained handprints, in true horror movie style, represent a tortured spirit that is yet to move on until the truth is out.

As the trailer concludes, all the guilty looking residents of Walford gather in the Square, closely watched by the spirit of Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) who haunts them from above.

EastEnders fans have already been teased at the National Television Awards with the clue that Lucy Beale heard the sound of a music box just before she died.  This clue has got fans even more confused yet excited for the final dramatic conclusion.

Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has promised that the live EastEnders episode will be ‘spectacular’ and full of drama.

Don’t forget to tune in on February the 19th  where fans will finally find out ‘ Who Killed Lucy Beale!’
