Ben Hardy X-Men: Apocalypse

For those of you missing Peter Beale in Eastenders, you will be pleased to know that you can watch Ben Hardy once again, but this time on the big screen. He will play Angel in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, according to reports.

It was back in February that we reported the former EASTENDERS star was likely to join the cast of Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men sequel, but his exact role had not been confirmed.

However, according to The Wrap‘s Jeff Sneider – who first broke the news of Hardy’s appointment – it is now confirmed that he will play the heroic Angel.

Singer has been a very busy man of late teasing fans with information using social media after he revealed some concept art featuring Angel-esque wings in a cage.

In the comics, Angel loses his wings before earning them back by agreeing to join the evil Apocalypse, leading to the creation of Archangel.

Oscar Isaac will play Apocalypse in the new film, while young versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Jubilee and Storm will appear alongside the likes of Xavier (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicolas Hoult).

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will arrive in cinemas on May 27, 2016.
