Power Rangers

PROJECT ALMANAC director Dean Israelite is rumoured to helm the new MIGHTY MORPHIN’ POWER RANGERS movie…

The Wrap has reported that the filmmaker’s most recent film PROJECT ALMANAC showcased a young talent very well and he might have the right credentials to do the same once more with the young actors in POWER RANGERS.

News of a new film came to light last September revealing that the screenplay by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who penned THOR and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, had already been written.

The MIGHTY MORPHIN’ POWER RANGERS first became a hit back in 1993 from the success of its popular TV series. Since then there have been numerous shows since its initial three year run which have spanned over the past 22 years.

The show has also appeared on the big screen too, with MIGHTY MORPHIN’ POWER RANGERS: THE MOVIE in 1995 and was quickly followed by TURBO: A POWER RANGERS MOVIE.

The new movie from the franchise has been slated for a 2016 release.
