Entertainment One UK has released a new trailer (which is R-rated) and poster for the eagerly anticipated THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN based on the worldwide publishing phenomenon by Paula Hawkins. Take a look at the footage above and the poster below.

The film boasts a stellar cast including Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, Edgar Ramirez, Lisa Kudrow and Laura Prepon. 

In the thriller, Rachel (Blunt), who is devastated by her recent divorce, spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one morning she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.

The Girl On The Train

Based on Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel, THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN is directed by Tate Taylor (The Help, Get on Up) and adapted for the screen by Erin Cressida Wilson and Taylor. The film is produced by Marc Platt (Bridge of Spies, Into the Woods) while the executive producers are Jared LeBoff and Celia Costas.

Hawkins’ novel sold over 2 million copies worldwide and based on that alone, the film will certainly garner a lot of attention.

THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN will arrive in cinemas on 7 October.
