Colin Firth

Colin Firth could be heading back to his role in KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE according to the director…

The surprise hit of 2015, KINGSMAN raked in a whopping $85 million worldwide and with figures like that, it’s no surprise that the powers that be are talking about a possible sequel.

The Matthew Vaughn directed flick boasts a brilliant cast including; Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, Mark Hamill, Jack Davenport, Michael Caine and Taron Egerton.

While speaking to USA Today, Vaughn has mentioned a few details about what the sequel might entail and who exactly would be returning.

If you haven’t seen the film, we won’t spoil it for you, but some would say it’s unlikely to see Colin Firth’s character, Harry Hart, return for the movies possible sequel, but that’s exactly what Vaughn’s thinking about. Here’s what he had to say;

“A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel but I’m coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I’ve got a feeling we’ll figure out a way for having Colin back.”

Could that mean that Firth’s character may appear in a series of flash-backs or perhaps some spy gadget trickery will enable his return?

Either way Vaughn has confirmed that he’ll continue with Eggsy’s (Egerton) story none the less:

“The sequel will be ‘This is the modern-day gentleman spy.’ Because Harry isn’t. Harry even says, ‘There is a reason why we’ve developed weak chins.’ He said that meaning, ‘Look at us, we need to get new blood into this system,’ and that’s what Eggsy is. I joke that we’ve made the prequel to the Eggsy movie.”

With Colin Firth being an all-round crowd pleaser, we can imagine Vaughn and the crew are keen to get him into the sequel some how.
