It’s official, it’s only a matter of weeks until AVENGERS: ENDGAME arrives on our screen and now that we are in April, the press tour for the movie is in full swing as Chris Hemsworth points out in an excited social media post.
It is bittersweet as we can’t wait to see the movie, but are dreading the feeling of it being the end of a wonderful era. We have already been spoilt with a new content featurette where our favourite superheroes are mulling over the fate of their characters in AVENGERS: ENDGAME and then of course the beautiful posters below showing the surviving heroes waiting to avenge those who had died – all of whom are black and white in their posters.
As the press tour is kicking off, Chris Hemsworth, AKA Thor took to social media to announce that he is on his travels to the States (in a private jet of course!) and revealed the destinations afterwards are currently scheduled for the UK and then China. Here’s what he had to say on Instagram:
At the end of Infinity War, we lost Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Vision (Paul Bettany), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Shaw), Drax (Dave Bautista), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Groot (Vin Diesel), Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Shuri (Letitia Wright), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt).
Now that the difficult bit of looking at just how many have fallen at the hands of Thanos is done, let’s be happy for those that we have left ready to take on the ruthless villain. Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) has survived Thanos’ attack at the start of Infinity War and she will be joined by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), Wong (Benedict Wong), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and War Machine (Don Cheadle).
Last year’s Avengers: Infinity War saw the titular superhero team take the fight to Thanos in order to stop his quest of exterminating half of the universe’s population with the Infinity stones, but it was to no avail, as he was able to successfully collect them all and snap his fingers, wiping out half of everyone from existence in a cloud of ash, including Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), King T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Groot (Vin Diesel), Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Mantis (Pom Klementief), Drax (Dave Bautista), Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), as well as Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Hope van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lily), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), though Fury was able to send a signal to Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).
Having lost so many popular cast members at the end of INFINITY WAR was so devastating, however ENDGAME will see the return of many familiar faces. Confirmed cast members for the untitled fourth Avengers film so far include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olson, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Sean Gunn, Tom Holland, Paul Rudd, Jon Favreau, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Evangeline Lilly, Katherine Langford and Josh Brolin.
