Disney Animation is going through a resurgence. Ever since the release of TANGLEDÂ all the way back in 2010, the mouse house has given us the treat of WRECK IT RALPH, BIG HERO 6Â and of course the runaway box office and pop cultural hit FROZEN.
Disney are looking to continue this winning streak with their upcoming comedy Zootropolis (renamed in the UK from the original title Zootopia) and judging by the recently confirmed cast list it looks as if the company are looking to hire only the best for their projects.
The film is set in a world where animals live and thrive in society not to dissimilar to our own. When an idealistic law enforcing rabbit Lt. Judy Hopps takes on an impossible case to prove her worth in an office full of big, tough and powerful animals she is forced to team up with a slick con artist Fox Nick Wilde who begrudgingly agrees to help her with the case.
Already announced for ZOOTROPOLIS was Jason Bateman as the aforementioned Nick Wilde and Ginnifer Goodwin as Lt. Judy Hopps. Joining them will be Idris Elba as Chief Bogo (A bull), Octavia Spencer as Mrs. Otterton (an otter) J.K Simmons as Mayor Leodore Lionheart (A Lion) as well as supporting roles from Alan Tudyk, Nate Torrance and Tommy Chong.

In an Interview with USA Today, Idris Elba spoke of his involvement with the project.
“I can’t say I ever even dreamed of being a buffalo before. But now that I am one, I’m very excited about it. And I grabbed the part by the horns.”
The film is being directed by TANGLED’s Byron Howard and WRECK IT RALPH and THE SIMPSONS Rich Moore.
ZOOTROPOLIS is set for a UK release date of March 25th 2016.
