Michelle-Maclaren

We can image Michelle MacLaren is a very happy lady right now as it’s been confirmed she’ll develop and direct the Wonder Woman stand-alone film.

We suspected she would be taking on the role in the director’s chair as we reported earlier in the month and now it is official.

Known for her incredible television work on big series like BREAKING BAD and GAME OF THRONES and THE WALKING DEAD, MacLaren is a great choice for a project like this. Both movie and comic books fans can give a big sigh of relief knowing they’re in safe hands.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, not only will MacLaren sit in the director’s chair but she’ll work with the writers to shape the general story. Warner Brothers had previously looked into both Jennifer Kent and Lesli Linka Glatter for the job, but came back to MacLaren, confident that she’s ready to tackle her first feature project.

THR also reports that Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven will be producing the film. Looks like the trio will be working on this alongside the up and coming BATMAN VS SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE movie.

MacLaren will be directing Gal Gadot in the title role, whose character will be introduced in the Batman vs Superman movie first. Following this, Wonder Woman will be set in 1920’s American with rumours that the plot will set it up for a trilogy.

Wonder Woman open in theatres June 23rd 2017.
