On Sunday night, at the 54th annual Super Bowl, a brand new special look trailer for BLACK WIDOW, which was one of the many football showpiece adverts. Take a look at the 30-second footage in the video player below:

Scarlett Johansson‘s Natasha Romanoff is up against new challenges in this one as we see her meeting up with other women trained as Black Widows. This is the first standalone movie for the Black Widow after her multiple and crucial roles in the Avengers movies. However, as we see in the new Big Game spot, her story is far more complicated than imagined:

“You don’t know everything about me. The Avengers weren’t my first family.”

Natasha Romanoff is a spy and assassin who grew up being trained by the KGB before breaking from their grasp and becoming an agent of SHIELD and an Avenger. The film is expected to be set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, but before Avengers: Infinity War.

Black Widow boasts a superb cast featuring David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy) as Alexei aka The Red Guardian, Florence Pugh (Fighting with My Family) as Yelena Belova, Academy Award-winning actress Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) as Melina and O-T Fagbenle(The Handmaid’s Tale) as Mason.

In the director’s chair for this one is Cate Shortland (Lore), bringing to life a script penned by Jac Schaeffer (The Hustle).

BLACK WIDOW will arrive in cinemas May 1st, 2020.
