Ghostbusters Murray

Bill Murray is still one of the most unpredictable personalities within the film industry. Rumours of him gatecrashing various student house parties only to clean up the dishes and give worldly advice, kissing strangers in lifts and stealing food off of peoples plates in restaurants is just par for the course in the every day life for Mr. Murray.

However one thing that Murray has always been very stubborn about was his involvement in the upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS reboot, having gone on record in the past stating that he wouldn’t be appearing in any form of planned third GHOSTBUSTERS film. However Murray, aged 64, might have just come around to the idea with both the Hollywood Reporter and Deadline confirming that Murray will have some form of a role in Paul Feig’s upcoming remake.

However those hoping that Murray will once again don his proton pack and be up-front in the bustin’ action may be left disappointed as Birth.Movies.Death has supposedly uncovered critical details about Murray’s character within the film.

Murray is rumoured to be playing a new character to the franchise called Martin Heis, a supernatural debunker, who goes to various paranormal sites of importance with the sole attempt to prove the existence of ghosts and anything spooky as complete hokum, who has his eyes set on uncovering the new Ghostbusters as fraudsters.

Martin Heis will be the new teams human foil, similarly to Willam Atheron’s character, Walter Peck, from the original film that was a spineless lawyer who refused to accept that the Ghostbusters work was valid or needed. This new dynamic for Murray is certainly unexpected and shows that Feig is definitely willing to take risks, even at the risk of upsetting fans, for this new remake.

GHOSTBUSTERS will be released summer of next year and will star Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon with Chris Hemsworth also starring as their receptionist.
