Benedict Cumberbatch

With the impending release of THE IMITATION GAME and following on from the release of the official poster, and previous clips from the film, StudioCanal has now unveiled an intriguing featurette from the movie.

In the behind-the-scenes excerpt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Charles Dance and director Morten Tyldum all share their thoughts about the film that has got everyone talking.

There is a lot of media hype surrounding this film and understandably so, with many predicting an Oscar or two awarded to the film.

Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, who appear in the featurette to discuss their roles, are superbly supported by Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear, Charles Dance, Allen Leech and Matthew Beard.

The film offers a dramatic portrayal of the life and work of Alan Turing, one of Britain’s most extraordinary unsung heroes, and one of the world’s greatest innovators.

The pioneer of modern-day computing, Alan Turing is credited with cracking the German Enigma code and the film is a “nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team at Britain’s top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II.”

Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British Establishment, but his work and legacy live on. Norwegian filmmaker Morten Tyldum (Headhunters) is directing from a screenplay by Graham Moore, based on the book “Alan Turing: The Enigma” by Andrew Hodges.

THE IMITATION GAME is set for release November 14th in the UK and November 21st in the US.
