There are several different ways to announce an impending new film and hats off to Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson who brought blue steel back to the runway at Paris Fashion Week when they strutted their stuff as Derek Zoolander and Hansel at the Maison Valentino show, officially announcing the sequel to their 2001 comedy, ZOOLANDER.
Paramount Pictures, took to Twitter to announce the official release of the film, which has been slated for February 12th, 2016.
Stiller confirmed the news on Instagram, where he posted a photo of himself and Wilson with the caption, “Apparently Derek and Hansel have come to terms on #Zoolander 2.” Another Instagram picture from Valentino showed the pair posing alongside Anna Wintour, and even the Vogue editor-in-chief herself couldn’t keep from cracking a wry smile in the company of the comedic duo.
The plot details for ZOOLANDER 2 are still under wraps, but rumours were rife last year that Penelope Cruz will be joining the cast. Will Ferrell will also reportedly return as the nefarious designer Mugatu, while Justin Theroux wrote the script. It’s unclear whether Stiller will once again direct…
