No surprise here then, today is all about the BAFTA awards at London’s Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

There were celebrities galore wandering up the red carpet, which thankfully was not rain-drenched unlike last year.  There were many nominees who hit the red carpet and I was thrilled to see the likes of Oprah Winfrey attend her first BAFTA awards ceremony and the surprise addition to the guest list –Brangelina!

As always, all eyes were on the glamourous couple and I have to say, Angelina Jolie looked fabulous in her Valentino tuxedo suit.  I love how she made it more casual with the bow-tie hanging loosing around her fitted white shirt.  Of course, we can’t forget the very beautiful Brad Pitt, sporting his new hair cut and looking every bit as gorgeous as his fiancée.

Lupita Nyong'o and Samantha Barks looked fabulous in their respective Dior and Calvin Klein dresses.

For me, I have two favourites from the night:  Lupita Nyong’o (12 YEARS A SLAVE) and Samantha Barks (LES MISERABLE).  Lupita has caught the eye of fashion designers all around the world from her beautiful red Ralph Lauren dress she wore to the Golden Globes through to the beautiful Dior dress she wore on Sunday night to the BAFTAs.  I have only two words to describe her dress – simply stunning.  That girl has an amazing figure and she knows how to accentuate it and I am loving the fact that she is brave enough to wear bright colours and keep everyone guessing.  I CANNOT WAIT to see what she wears to the Oscars in March!

Samantha Barks walked up the red carpet looking very beautiful and elegant in her Calvin Klein, nude-coloured dress.  The style looked flawless on her and it fitted like a glove onto her teeny-tiny body.  I also loved how her hair was styled, classic and beautiful.  She was definitely another one of my red carpet favourites.

The men of course looked as dashing as ever.  Brad Pitt wore his tuxedo to the awards and despite looking like he was having a few technical issues with his bowtie popping up over his small, white collared shirt, he looked very handsome.

Luke Evans also looked fabulous in his tuxedo when presenting alongside Dracula co-star Samantha Barks

Other favourites of mine from the night include THE HOBBIT’S Luke Evans.  He has been working hard doing the pre-awards ceremonies rounds wearing a variety of different suits, but on Sunday night, he wore a lovely tuxedo and looked very smart as he presented an award alongside Samantha Banks.

Stephen Fry did a great job as host for his ninth time – his gags and jokes seemed well-received with the guests and funny man Steve Coogan was definitely one of my favourites from the night, he never disappoints.

I had my fingers and toes crossed that Lupita Nyong’o would win the Rising Star Award or Best Supporting Actress, but unfortunately it was not meant to be.  12 YEARS A SLAVE was such an incredible film and the way she portrayed her character was so amazing (as was Jennifer Lawrence in Hustle).  Lupita convinced me in that film that she was not an actress, but Patsy.   She made it so believable and I felt that I was a fly on a wall watching horrific events happening to her.  Either way, someone give her an award for her dresses this season!!!

All eyes will no doubt look back across the pond in preparation for the Oscars and I cannot wait!

With love,
