After 25 years of elaborate but ultimately futile murder schemes, Sideshow Bob will finally have his revenge on nemesis Bart Simpson.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly at the ATX Festival in Texas on Saturday, THE SIMPSONS producer Al Jean revealed all. “I’m one of the people that always wanted to see the Coyote eat the Road Runner. I hated frustration comedy, so we’ll scratch that itch. So Bob will finally somehow actually execute Bart – and then won’t know what to do with himself after his life’s mission has been accomplished.”
Voiced by Kelsey Grammer, Sideshow Bob appeared on the first season of The Simpsons in 1990 as Krusty The Clown’s sidekick. The cat-and-mouse saga originated after Krusty was framed for armed robbery at the Kwik-E-Mart; Bart exposed that it was in fact Bob and so began Bob’s relentless and long-running vengeance on Bart.
The much anticipated segment will feature in the sitcoms annual TREEHOUSE OF HORROR series in late October or early November, so fear not Simpson fans, it’s not really the end of El Barto.Â
