Animatsu Entertainment has announced that the live-action feature Attack on Titan: Part 1 is set for a cinema release here in the UK from December 1st and a brand new trailer has also been unveiled, which you can watch above.Â
Based on the smash-hit anime and manga series, ATTACK ON TITAN has garnered a huge following around the globe, in Japan alone over 50 million copies of the Manga have been sold. UK audiences will get a chance to immerse themselves in the Attack on Titan world as it terrorises its way into cinemas for a limited time only. Keep an eye out as select sites will be playing a double bill of both Attack on Titan movies!

The popular story has also been adapted into a successful anime series which has sold over 30,000 copies in the UK alone and now the theatrical promises to bring a whole new audience to this already huge franchise. Set 100 years in the future, what remains of the human population now survives in relative peace behind massive walls erected in defence against the man-eating Titans. That peace is shattered when a Colossal Titan, measuring over 50 meters tall, smashes through the wall and allows a horde of other Titans to enter.
Here’s the official synopsis for the movie: “In a post-apocalyptic future where only a fraction of humanity has survived to live humbly amongst the rubble, Eren Jaeger dreams of more. His brainy friend Armin tells tall tales about deserts and oceans beyond the massive walls that guard their civilization, and his girlfriend Mikasa is equally entranced by the birds that soar over those untouchable barricades. Unfortunately, Eren’s wish to see the walls opened to the outside world comes at a devastating cost. Enormous humanoid monsters called “Titans” come stampeding through the walls and immediately start eating every man, woman, and child they can find.Â
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Eren joins the newly minted “Titan Survey Corps” alongside hundreds of other young adults. Some of these new soldiers are hungry for revenge, but most are just plain hungry due to the ensuing famine. While facing down his demons and fighting through past trauma, Eren will have to rediscover what “freedom” means to him in a new world ruled by fear.”
