Star Trek

Another day and another casting story – STAR TREK BEYOND has added a new cast member to the ever growing list- Joe Taslim.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the actor, who is also a great martial artist has signed up for the upcoming STAR TREK sequel.

Little is yet known about the role of Taslim, but it has been suggested that his character will be pivotal opposite Idris Elba, who plays a villain.

Joe Taslim is largely known for his role in FAST AND FURIOUS 6 opposite Luke Evans as the villainous Jah. He played a vicious killer who takes on both Tyrese Gibson and Sung Kang thanks to his particularly impressive martial arts skills.

The STAR TREK sequel is currently in production in Vancouver, and will see Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and the regular faces of the USS Enterprise reprising their roles. New additions include the fabulous Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella in an unknown role.

Justin Lin is calling the shots on this one and hopes to build on the successes of previous director J.J. Abrams.

STAR TREK BEYOND arrives in cinemas July 8th, 2016.
