Amy Schumer Trainwreck premiere

Sydney rolled out the red carpet for comic queen Amy Schumer at the premiere of her new film TRAINWRECK on Sunday evening.

The comedic actress woman was joined by her co-star Bill Hader, also a well-renowned comic actor and Saturday Night Live performer.

A host of local talent rubbed shoulders with the talented pair and watched the film, which follows the life of magazine writer Amy (Schumer), a career woman who enjoys the bachelor lifestyle but falls for sports doctor Aaron (Hader).

It is a funny, enjoyable film and you can read our full review on it here.

TRAINWRECK is directed by king of comedy Judd Apatow.

Schumer also wrote the script for the film, which is inspired from some of her real-life experiences as she plays a commitment-averse woman trying to get past her self-sabotaging ways. Since she was a little girl, it’s been drilled into Amy’s (Amy Schumer) head by her rascal of a dad (Colin Quinn) that monogamy isn’t realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo—enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment—but in actuality, she’s kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she’s writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.

Completing the TRAINWRECK casting ensemble is Brie Larson, Tilda Swinton, Colin Quinn, Barkhad Abdi, Mike Birbiglia, Jon Glaser, Vanessa Bayer, John Cena, Ezra Miller, LeBron James, Method Man, Norman Lloyd, Jim Norton, Daniel Radcliffe and Marisa Tomei.

TRAINWRECK hits UK cinemas August 14th, 2015.
